I am Professor of Practical Philosophy and Wallenberg Academy Fellow at Stockholm University, and researcher at Institute for Futures Studies where I am part of a project on Transformative Ethics.

In recent years I have held visting positions at the ANU, Harvard, LSE, and Oxford. During March 2025 I will be a vitor of CPNSS at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

My current research focuses on reasoning under extreme uncertainty, ethics of risk, population ethics, environmental ethics, and catastrophic risk.

I defended my PhD thesis from the London School of Economics in May 2014.
